St. James’ CE Junior School is a community Christian school serving a diverse multi-cultural community. At the heart of all that we do is an aspiration to do the very best for all – children, parents, staff and community.

Our vision is based on our four core values: Care, Courtesy, Cooperation and Consideration which are rooted in the Christian faith.

Code of Conduct

At St. James we welcome and respect people from all backgrounds and religions as part of our school family.

We have high expectations of ourselves.

We help each other to enjoy learning, to achieve the best we possibly can, and to be able to make choices that will contribute to a healthy lifestyle and economic well-being.

We work and play together so that our school is a safe and happy place where everyone feels valued.

We want members of our school family to be responsible, confident people who are able to contribute fully to society.

We fully understand the influence and impact that different forms of behaviour play in determining the success within the school, for all pupils and adults, in the forming of the whole school ethos.

We aim to nurture in the individual awareness and responsibility for attitudes, decisions, actions and recognition of their consequences.

The 4Cs form the basis of all school rules and convey clearly to staff and pupils the expectations that we have of our community.

The 4Cs are:

  • Care
  • Courtesy
  • Consideration
  • Co-operation
